VC Star: Out of touch
It is truly unbelievable that in this day and age in California, anyone would propose to raise more taxes. And not only propose such a thing, but to show up and vote for something like Senate Bill 1 to raise our gas taxes and increase our vehicle registration fees.
Assemblywoman Jacqui Irwin's vote on this measure clearly demonstrates that she is completely out of touch with her constituents and needs to be replaced.
In addition, her vote for Senate Bill 54 to make our state a "sanctuary state" for illegal aliens is equally as disturbing. That is a slap in the face to all American citizens in the state and in her Assembly district. It is also insulting to all immigrants who have come to our state legally to reside and work.
She is obviously dedicated to two areas: raising taxes at every turn and putting the needs of illegal aliens above American citizens. I, for one, will not be voting for Irwin in November. My vote will go to Ronda Baldwin-Kennedy.
